Lynch Pins are used as a convenient way to
adjust or remove accessories on equipment, or for preventing wheels and
other parts from slipping off an axle - much like an R-Clip or Cotter
Pin. Most commonly they are used on lawn and agricultural equipment,
such as tractor hitches. Also used as fasteners.
Lynch Pins consist of a locking ring and pin which is inserted into the end of a shaft. The audible snapping noise that can be heard ensures that you have firmly secured the clasp in place.
